Program Details
This includes an introduction to the studies of principal yoga asanas, Pranayamas, meditation, kriyas, Maharishi Patanjali’s yoga sutras and Hatha Yoga Pradipika. Further, complete immersion into the practical experience of the concept studies, public speaking, the methodology of teaching, etc. are covered. Strategically designed by the founder Shri Yogendra ji, Smt. Sita Devi Yogendra, Dr. Jaydeva Yogendra, and Dr. Hansaji Yogendra, these courses serve as a valuable “life school” to those seeking balance and fulfilment in life.

A – Knowledge
  • Introduction to Yoga and Yogic Practices.
  • Introduction to Hatha Yoga.
    • Introduction to important Hatha Yoga Texts with special reference to Hatha Yoga Pradipika.
  • Introduction to Patanjali Yoga Sutras.
  • Bhavas of the Buddhi – Basis of Yoga Education.
  • Introduction to Anatomy and Physiology.
  • Introduction to Human Systems, Yoga and Health
  • Yoga for wellness – prevention and promotion of positive health
  • Yoga and stress management.
B-Skill
  • Sahaj Bhava Asanas
  • Shat Karmas
  • Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation)
  • Yoga Asanas
    • Knowledge of selected postures and demonstrated ability to perform these postures – meditative and cultural (dynamic and static versions).
    • Selected psychophysical and conceptual Yoga techniques pioneered by The Yoga Institute.
  • Pranayamas
    • Knowledge, teaching, and demonstrated ability to select Pranayamas.
  • Practices leading to Yoga Meditation

Course Attendance Criteria
  • A student is required to have a minimum 80% attendance

On successfully passing the exam, students will be awarded a certificate – Basic Teacher Training Certificate (200 hours) by The Yoga Institute, which is recognized by Yoga Certification Board (AYUSH Level-1) and Yoga Alliance USA (RYT 200).

Teaching & Certification
Exam Details
  • Yoga Students will be eligible to appear for the Final certification exams only if they have completed all the required course submissions, class work and the required attendance
  • Students will have to appear for the final exams within 60 days from the course end date.
  • Students will be permitted a maximum of 3 attempts to clear the final exams, failing which they will have to repeat the course.
    • In the 2nd attempt, they will be exempted from either theory or practical’s, if they have cleared it in their 1st attempt.
    • They will have to appear for both in case of a 3rd attempt.
  • Examiners will evaluate students only as per the final approved list.
Exam Schedule
  • On-campus Final exams (both theory and practical) will be conducted on 26th day of each month, or as announced (in case of exigencies), between 10 am (IST) and 2 pm IST.
  • A Mock test will be held 7 -14 days prior to the course end date, to familiarize students with the exam process.
